Beyond Measure

Beyond Measure

These are exciting times at FBC Killeen. As we build a new church together, there are two ingredients that have been required along the way.

The first ingredient is unity. For eight years I have tried as pastor to hold the church together in a way that honors God. We have worked to educate, inform, and to process all decisions in a way that brought along the entire membership. I have tried not to stress the congregation with minor change, knowing that big changes were on the way. I have tried to lead the church in good stewardship, knowing that your trust is essential in our quest for unity.

During our “beyond measure” campaign, you will be asked as an individual to contribute to the building campaign. But no one gift can make this building a reality. It will take all gifts, large and small, to bring us to the finish line in unity.

But it is not only what we give, but also how we give, that will produce a unified effort. 2 Cor 9:7 says “You must each make up your own mind as to how much you should give. Don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves the person who gives cheerfully.” We want to reach to finish line together and say, “wow, look what God has done” – For this to happen, God must do a work in and through your giving.

One of the most encouraging verses in scripture in regards to giving is found in the book of Malachi 3:10.

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. “ I believe that if we test God with generous giving, he will reward us with a generous harvest.

The other ingredient to a successful relocation is a miracle. And I do not use that term loosely. Many church “horror stories” exist about failed relocation attempts. Some split churches; others were accomplished but resulted in bank ruptusy. When we get to the finish line, we will all know that it was God’s hand that brought us through the journey. This is your eternal opportunity to be a part of an authentic miracle.

Let’s join God in this exciting vision that he has put before us. Let’s join Him in a unified body of believers, giving in joy, stepping out in obedience, and testing God in our giving. His giving is beyond measure, what will your response be?

Beyond Measure,
