Dear Church
Family,
These are truly exciting times! I often reflect on what the
Bible says about a specific time. For instance, Ecclesiastes
3:1 says, “to everything there is a season and a time to every
purpose under the heaven.” For eight verses, God tells us
about specific times. Verse three tells us ‘there is a time
to build.’ In Esther 4:14, the Lord reveals to us that “we
have come to the kingdom for such a time as this.”

I was born on a dairy farm in southwestern Pennsylvania to a Christian family. My mother was very active in our local Presbyterian church - Sunday school teacher, various church committees. Sunday was a day of rest, except for having to milk the cows, and my dad always went to church - the only time I ever saw him in a coat and tie! We always went to school with a new bible verse to memorize while we waited for the school bus.

First Baptist Church History |
First Baptist originating in March 1873 was known as The Baptist Church of Christ at Palo Alto. Ten years later, the church moved to Killeen, meeting in the public school building. By 1917, construction of the red brick building at the corner of 4th and Green Streets was completed with a sanctuary on the first floor and Sunday School rooms in the basement. The opening of Camp Hood meant FBC needed more education space. In December 1949, an education building was dedicated. The current sanctuary and education building were dedicated in November 1955. In 1963, a two-story brick building joining the two sanctuaries was completed.

Baptist Church that God used in a mighty way.
